Sebastian Inlet Report

THE NORTH AND SOUTH JETTIES WERE INSPECTED YESTERDAY. WE WILL RECEIVE THE ENGINEER'S REPORT NEXT WEEK. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

What a beautiful morning at the Sebastian Inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West-Northwest at 5 mph, gusting to 10 and there is a moderate chop on the water. Unfortunately, the lack of wind is bringing out the no see 'ums, be sure to take insect repellent if you head to the inlet today. We have a "cold" front coming through tonight which will be followed by a surge of Northeast winds creating hazardous boating conditions for the weekend. Bad news for our boaters!

Yesterday the Snook bite was very good. Live shrimp was the bait of choice. Oversized Reds are active along with Jacks, Blues, Catfish, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, Trout and Sheepshead. Get out and wet a line this weekend.

Our angler of the day is Michael Kuhlmey of Sebastian. Michael was fishing the north seawall on when he tossed out the last finger mullet in his bait bucket and the big bull Red in the photo nailed it! Michael released the big Red unharmed right after the photo. He also saw a 16" Flounder landed right afterward.
