Sebastian Inlet Report

06-10-16 TGIF! JACKS, MACKEREL AND LOOKDOWN

Wet weather continues through this morning with a chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Winds will start out westerly around 10 mph becoming north-northeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Boaters can expect a moderate chop on the intracoastal. Winds and seas will continue to be favorable for small craft boating through the weekend. Saturday's forecast looks soggy as well.

Sarah from the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reports a light crowd on the jetties this morning. She says the bugs are running a few people off. For the determined, it has been a mix of Spanish mackerel, blue runners, jacks and Lookdown. Sarah says the ocean bait is picking up so much that you can almost smell the fish in the water.

Today's featured angler is Donnie Brooks of Ohio. Donnie was in town for his daughter's graduation when he found some time to sneak off to the jetty. His outing resulted in the catch of a nice jack.
