Sebastian Inlet Report

02-25-16 THURSDAY: MACKEREL, BLUES AND SNOOK

The National Weather Service has issued an URGENT Marine Weather message notifying the public that a small craft advisory is in effect until 10 A.M. tomorrow morning. NWS predicts winds out of the west around 20 knots and waves/seas 6-to-8 feet. This means hazardous conditions for small craft and inexperienced mariners. A gale warning is also in effect until 10 A.M. this morning. Inlet anglers will experience mostly sunny skies today and tomorrow with highs in the upper 60s. There's no chance of showers.

The Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reports a big bite with Spanish mackerel and blues yesterday. Also coming over the rails were some big trout, a couple of small snook, a few flounder, black drum and sheepshead. Right now, we're hearing it's pretty slow going this morning with only a few folks on the jetties.

Our picture of the day is from Luke Vila of Kissimmee. Luke and his friends hooked up earlier this week with some sheepshead, snapper and even a catfish.
