Sebastian Inlet Report

09-11-15 FRIDAY: THE BITE IS BACK!

Today expect scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon at the Inlet. Skies will be partly sunny, with the high near 90 degrees. Winds will be out of the south around 5 mph. The chance of precipitation is 50%. The weekend will be a couple of degrees cooler with the potential for showers and thunderstorms mainly in the PM. Today visibility is around 10 miles.

Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop's Tommy Turkowski says this morning Inlet anglers are hooking up with a good number of snook. Yesterday, it was a lot of mangrove snapper with a few mutton and cuberas hooked, as well as some jacks and blue runners.

Veteran angler, Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach, also reported a good snapper bite on Thursday while he was out on the north jetty. Mike also witnessed at least five, slot reds reeled in along with jacks. All of our reporting anglers have mentioned the intense heat at the Inlet this week, so prepare accordingly.

Donte Williams of Orlando caught today's featured fish, the oversized snook, on a large shrimp. Donte reported that the catch put up and nice fight before coming over the rails. There's no measurement on the snook because Donte wanted to get it back to the water quickly. Donte also landed 2 snapper and 1 lookdown while at the Inlet.
