Sebastian Inlet Report

08-07-15 TGIF!

We have another lovely morning at the Sebastian Inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West-Southwest at 7 mph, gusting to 12 and the water is calm. We have a nice boating forecast for the weekend. The NOAA forecast calling for pretty smooth seas but we have a chance of showers and thunderstorms that can pop up quickly.
Fishing is slow at the inlet. Mangrove Snapper are the best bet for table fare and will take small shrimp or bait fish such as greenies or mojarra. Jacks, Reds, C/R Snook, Bonito, Mackerel, Tarpon and a few Blue Runners are out there, but not much is biting.

An occasional big Red will find its way to our jetty anglers like the one in today's photo. Bill Hillman of Kissimmee landed this beautifully colored C/R Red from the north jetty. Bill was using live pinfish and released the big Red unharmed right after the photo. Beautiful catch Bill!

Our second photo today features Jake Barker. Jake fished the south beach  when he hooked up with the Black Tip Shark in the photo. Jake also landed a Mutton Snapper, Jacks and Blues. He saw plenty of Reds and Tarpon but they were not hungry. The Black Tip was released to fight another day.
