08-04-15 TUESDAY: A FEW SNAPPER, JACKS, C/R SNOOK AND REDS
We have a gorgeous morning at the inlet. We have Southerly winds at 6 mph and calm waters. In spite of the abundance of bait in the water, fishing is slow. The summer doldrums have set in and we'll just have to wait it out. Mornings, late afternoons and night fishing have been a little more productive as the heat is more tolerable for us and the fish! Currently, Mangrove Snapper are the most active species at the inlet. A nice Red, C/R Snook, big Jack or a Bonito will find its way to one of our inlet anglers but overall, it's sad.
Our angler of the day is Mo of Harmony. Mo fished the south beach on Friday and was lucky enough to land this nice Permit. Mo was soaking a dollar sized blue crab when it got the attention of the approximately 15 lb. Permit. This was Mo's only fish or even bite of the day, but he's not complaining with this sweet catch.
