Sebastian Inlet Report

08-17-15 MONDAY: MANGROVE SNAPPER, REDS, C/R SNOOK, JACKS AND BLUE RUNNERS

It's another beautiful morning at the Sebastian Inlet. Winds are moving out of the Southeast at 3 mph, gusting to 4 and there is a light chop on the water. NOAA is calling for a chance of rain throughout the day today. Currently, we have some clouds above the inlet but the cloud cover is welcomed by our jetty anglers.

Mangrove Snapper continue to dominate the catches at the inlet. Small shrimp, mojarra and greenies on light tackle will do the trick for the tasty fish. Over the weekend Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reported the bite was good on Sunday. Once again, Mangrove Snapper were the best bet along with Jacks, Blue Runners, slot and oversized Reds and C/R Snook. Tommy said the incoming tide is very clean but the outgoing has become murky.
Our angler of the day is Kurush Akbari of Palm Bay. Kurush landed this huge C/R Snook using a pinfish  Sunday evening. Kurush had waited patiently for a good bite the entire night. With one bait left, his last cast produced this big, gorgeous C/R Snook. Kurush released the fish unharmed right after the photo.
