Sebastian Inlet Report

08-12-15 SNAPPER AND JACKS

We have a beautiful summer morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the South-Southwest at 5 mph, gusting to 8 and the water is calm.

Inlet regular Mike Ricciardi was back out on the north jetty yesterday morning and reported another decent Mangrove Snapper bite. Mike was out early and landed his limit of five by 7:30 using mojarra. Diane Buyce of Melbourne and several other regulars landed their limits as well. The bite slowed on the outgoing tide. Six to eight good sized Jacks came over the rails and Lookdowns were hitting small, white jigs. The huge Goliath Groupers that lurk under the jetty were inhaling catches as they were being reeled in. The no see 'ums were out and biting and once the sun rose, the heat and humidity were intense. Fishing this time of year is not for the faint of heart!
