Sebastian Inlet Report

08-10-15 MONDAY: MANGROVE SNAPPER, JACKS, REDS, C/R SNOOK AND TARPON

We have another beautiful summer morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the North-Northwest at 7 mph, gusting to 9 and there is a very light chop on the water. We have a few days of dry weather in the forecast but don't let your guard down; the weather is unpredictable this time of year.

Fishing is slow; we have hit or miss action for our inlet anglers. The dog days of August are always slow and steaming hot. Mangrove Snapper have been the main attraction for anglers. Shrimp, small bait fish, small or cut crab on light tackle will do the trick for those tasty fish. Jacks, a few Reds and C/R Snook are biting sporadically and Tarpon can be seen rolling in the Lagoon and along the beaches.

Our first photo today features Michelle Ward of Kissimmee with a nice Mangrove Snapper she landed off the T-Dock last week using shrimp. Nice catch Michelle!

Our second photo is courtesy of Pam Winegar of Palm Bay. Pam took this shot of a large Barracuda that was patrolling the north jetty. Those menacing fish aren't helping the bite from the jetties! Thanks Pam, nice photo.
