07-06-15 MONDAY: SLOW WITH A FEW NICE FISH
Winds are blowing out of the Northwest this morning at 3 mph and the water is cool and calm. Clumps of algae are drifting out of the inlet on the outgoing tides and seaweed is thick on the shoreline making surf fishing difficult at best. The water is clean and there are plenty of bait fish attracting predators but getting them to bite is the trick.
We received several updates from our readers who reported fishing was on the slow side over the holiday weekend but some nice fish were landed including C/R Snook, Reds, Jacks, Bonito, Mangrove Snapper, a Black Drum and Cobia from the beach. Mojarra and greenies were schooling around the jetties. Overall, it sounds like our inlet anglers had a pretty fair weekend. We'll be posting all of the photos real soon, thanks to all of you who wrote in!
