Sebastian Inlet

06-08-15 SLOW BITE WEEKEND

Anglers will enjoy calm, clean waters but not necessarily a lot of action at the Inlet today. The bite was slow the entire weekend. Just a few Flounder, Pompano, Sheepshead and Snook got hooked. Tommy Turowski of the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop said the weekend's number one fish though was Mangrove Snapper. The biggest he saw was a 6 to 8 lbs. catch on Saturday. Coming in a distant second were Jacks which Tommy says were tickling the baits mostly in the evening.

If you do make it out today, winds will be out of the SE at 5 to 10 mph with a slight chance of showers. Boaters face just a light chop on the Intracoastal with no NOAA advisories. Those SE winds hang around through most of Tuesday.

The angler of the day is Justin Werner of Vero Beach. Justin caught a beautiful Snook free lining a live shrimp.  The fish was released immediately after the photo.
