06-04-15 THURSDAY: THE WEEDS ARE CLEARING!
A summer-like pattern of ESE winds and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms is the forecast for the day. So far this morning the seas are calm and the surf is flat. Once again, it's a light chop on the intracoastal and no advisories from NOAA to impact your plans.
Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop says it's a quiet morning on the jetty with an unusually light, fishing crowd. Tommy reports that anglers are taking advantage of the conditions and reeling in a lot of Mangrove Snapper, some Reds, a few Flounder, some Jacks and some big Margate. Tommy says there's still a bunch of greenies around the pier, some bigger, silver mullet beginning to show up and some Mojarra on the south side. The weeds, which have hampered anglers recently, have cleared up quite a bit, according to Tommy.
Our featured anglers today are Damion Garcia and Felix Rivera of Davenport, Florida. Felix and his stepson were on the north jetty tossing the lines when they landed a nice Sheepshead and Jack. The guys used live shrimp for bait.
