Sebastian Inlet Report

03-06-15 FRIDAY: TGIF! THE BITE IS PICKING UP!

We have a cloudy, windy morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the North at 15 mph, gusting to 18. The forecast is calling for choppy waters and windy conditions with a chance of rain this weekend but currently (9:00 a.m.) the water is calm. NOAA has issued a small craft advisory today through Sunday morning. The forecast is calling for potential rain, high seas and choppy water this weekend. Always check the NOAA advisory prior to boating. We hope everybody got a chance to get out yesterday and enjoy the weather, the weekend doesn't look great but at least we will have temperatures in the 70's, unlike our neighbors to the North and West.

Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reported that the action picked up yesterday with lots of different species coming over the rails in small numbers. Blues, Jacks, Trout, Snook, Reds, Sheepshead, Black Drum and a few Spanish Mackerel were active. The water temperature is starting to rise and that will help get the fish invigorated.
Our first photo today features Ted Smith of Addison, PA who fished a foggy morning this week. Ted was "walking the dog" using live shrimp around 10:00 a.m. when this beautiful 32" slot Snook hit his bait. Ted reported a very slow morning; this was the only decent bite he had but what a nice bite!
Our second photo features Pat Lambert with a Jack Crevalle he landed from the shoreline.
