Sebastian Inlet Report
02-03-15 TUESDAY: HIT OR MISS ACTION
THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IS RENOVATING THE SOUTH CATWALK; IT IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THE A-1-A BRIDGE WILL BE CLOSED INTERMITTENTLY IN 30 MINUTE INCREMENTS FEBRUARY 3 - 6, 2015 FROM 8:30 - 5:00. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN TRAVELING OVER THE BRIDGE FROM THE NORTH OR SOUTH.
It's windy and chilly at the inlet this morning but we have abundant sunshine and bright blue skies. The wind is blowing out of the North-Northwest at 15 mph, gusting to 19 and there is a light chop on the water. NOAA has issued a warning for small craft to exercise caution.
Rangelo Soriano of Miami has been visiting the area the past week and fished the inlet again on Sunday. He lucked out with a 32" Snook on opening day. Rangelo was drifting shrimp on the incoming tide. Although the bite was spotty, he managed to land a 26.5" Red as well. Very nice Rangelo! Unfortunately, his phone died when he was at the inlet and had to wait until he got home for the photo. Hopefully this will serve as a reminder for all of you to check your batteries before heading to the inlet, we only use photos that are taken on site. You'll just have to take our word that they were some good looking fish!
Our photo today is one that was taken a while back. Inlet regular Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach landed this pretty slot fish just before the season closed. Nice catch Chuck!
