From Todd / Eric @ Juno Bait -Juno Beach

INSHORE- Snook season is back open for the Atlantic coast and those spending ample time on the water are finding a few linesiders.  Look for the snook to be laid up around docks and seawalls during the day (especially those with dark mud bottom) and around bridges at night.  Live shrimp, small swimbaits, and shrimp style jigs are all good choices for the snook right now.  Also, if the spillways open the snook will be there. The inshore grass flats around Hobe Sound are holding a few fish.  A goofy jig bounced off the bottom from Mile Marker 40-44 should find the occasional pompano, ladyfish, jack, and other assorted species.

SURF/PIER- The Juno Beach PIer was a little quiet this week.  Scattered spanish mackerel moved through, and would normally bite a white crappie jig.  Croaker bite was fair in the first trough.  Small pieces of shrimp and small hooks are the ticket for the croakers.  A few bluefish showed this week, and bit best in the morning and late afternoon.  Cut bait (sardines and threadfins) seemed to be the ticket for the bluefish.  A handful of pompano were caught from just south of the Juno Pier to Jupiter Inlet.  Sandfleas, clams, and fishbites are all good bait choices for the pompano.  Spinner and blacktip sharks are beginning to show in fair numbers along the beach.
