Sebastian Inlet Report

12-04-14 THURSDAY: BLUES, BLUES AND MORE BLUES! SNOOK, REDS, SHEEPSHEAD, FLOUNDER AND BLACK DRUM

We have a beautiful morning at the inlet, although a bit windy. Winds are blowing out of the Northeast at 13 mph, gusting to 15 and there is a moderate chop on the water. There is a small craft advisory in effect.

Blues have been dominating the catches at the inlet. We have tons of them making their way in, out and around the inlet and jetties. Blues aren't very picky and will take anything put in front of them. Cut baits work well, along with spoons. We received an update from Sally Baughman who is back from WY for the winter. She and her husband Jim fished the north jetty late yesterday afternoon into the evening hours. Sally reported the Blues were hammering the north jetty and after dark, the Snook started biting, in the pouring rain! Jim landed two C/R Snook using pinfish. Sally landed a slot Red and two undersized Reds that were released, all on shrimp. Three slot Snook were landed off the north jetty, in between lots of Catfish coming over the rails. It was too rainy for photos, but we expect to get some from Sally soon. Thanks for the update Sally, welcome back!

Our first photo today features Charles Strader. Charles and his wife Fran surf fished from Floridana to Sebastian Inlet . They had a great time catching Ladyfish, Jacks and Whiting using sand fleas and bucktails. Charles is featured with a large Jack.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Orlando is featured in our second photo with a monster Red he landed off the north jetty using live shrimp. Zlatan released this beautiful Red unharmed right after the photo.

James Fannin of Kissimmee landed this 37" bull Red from shore at Long Point Park . This big Red was released to fight another day!
