Sebastian Inlet Report
12-03-14 WEDNESDAY: BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, JACKS, FLOUNDER, SPANISH MACKEREL, REDS, SNOOK AND LOTS OF BLUES!
It's a lovely morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the East at 9 mph, gusting to 11 and there is a moderate chop on the water. There is a NOAA advisory for small craft to exercise caution through this morning. We have a good chance of rain this afternoon, so go prepared if you head to the inlet.
We have a real good Bluefish bite occurring and they will hit just about anything. We are starting to see Pompano show up in the surf and from the jetties, Flounder are making appearances, good sized Sheepshead, Black Drum, Snook, Spanish Mackerel and Reds are in play as well. Bait has been difficult to find, but live and dead shrimp, clams and sand fleas are working for most species and spoons and Gotcha lures are working for the Blues and Mackerel.
Our first angler is Markus Bruski of Jacksonville. Markus will make the three hour drive on a weekend to fish overnight until the morning hours. Reds and Snook were very active and Markus pulled in three oversized Reds. He is featured with one that was 40" that was released unharmed right after the photo.
Our other photo today courtesy of Todd Krohn. Todd is from the west coast of FL and made his first trip to the inlet with friends. Using Nekid Ball Lures, the action was on fire with big Jacks and Blues, they landed and released over 50 of them! The most popular lure of the day was a While Glow Ball with White Flash teaser.
