12-02-14 TUESDAY: BLUEFISH, BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, POMPANO AND FLOUNDER
We have a lot of cloud cover at the inlet this morning and a very good chance of rain today. Winds are blowing out of the East at 14 mph, gusting to 17 and the water is choppy. Small craft should exercise caution. The choppy water will sometimes invigorate certain species. Those big Reds and Snook like it rough! Snook season will be closing on December 15th through the end of January.
We received an update from Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach who fished the north jetty yesterday morning from 6:30 - 12:30. There was a decent Black Drum bite with 20 - 25 coming over the rails. Mike landed one of them, along with a Pompano. There were quite a few good sized Sheepshead, 8 - 10 Pompano, 1 slot Red and tons of Bluefish! Most anglers were using live or dead shrimp and sand fleas. Mike landed his Pompano using shrimp.
Our first photo today features Mike Cucchi of Kirkwood, MO. Mike and his family take an annual trip to Sebastian and Mike lucked out with a nice Pompano he landed on the south side of the inlet. Lucky break as the Pompano have just started to show up the past week!
Andrew Sampson sent in our second and third photos. Andrew's friend Jenna Blanchard is featured in our second photo with a 13.5" Flounder. Andrew's sister Misty Sampson is featured in our third photo with a 17" Flounder. They had a fun day fishing the south side of the inlet.
Michael Mora of St. Cloud is in our fourth photo today with a 32" C/R Redfish.
Our last photo is of Luke Vila of Kissimmee with a Mangrove Snapper.
