Sebastian Inlet Report
12-15-14 MONDAY SNOOK SEASON IS CLOSED UNTIL FEBRUARY 1, 2015.
It's a beautiful morning at the inlet. The early mornings have been chilly, but it's been warming up nicely. We have winds blowing out of the West-Northwest at 5 mph, gusting to 7 and the water is calm. The weekend was gorgeous and Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reported a lot of Sheepshead and Trout came over the rails, Blues are running smaller, and a few Pompano, Reds and Snook were landed. Snook season is closed until February 1, 2015. Catch and release only until then. A few Flounder were landed in the inlet, but not a lot of activity from our big, flat friends yet. Finger mullet have been running during the morning hours.
Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach, John Rhodes of Atlanta and Charlie Boyd of Boca Raton fished with guide Mike Maher yesterday and the men landed some beautiful Snook. Using pigfish and pinfish on the outgoing tide, they hooked up with three slot fish at 29", 31" and 32". The men also landed several oversized Reds that were returned to the water to fight another day!
