Sebastian Inlet Report

12-12-14 FRIDAY: TGIF! SHEEPSHEAD, BLUES, BLACK DRUM, POMPANO, REDS, SNOOK AND FLOUNDER

We have another chilly morning at the inlet; it's in the low 50's. Winds are blowing out of the West-Northwest this morning at 5 mph, gusting to 9 and there is a light chop on the water. It is supposed to warm up to the low 60's and if you're dressed in layers, it should be a great day to get out and wet a line. We have a very nice weekend forecasted, although we may see some rain on Sunday. Snook season closes Monday, get out and get yourself one in the slot this weekend.

Tommy Turowski of the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reported a very cold morning but the fish are biting. Sheepshead, Black Drum and Blues have been very active with some nice Snook and Reds thrown into the mix. Pompano have arrived, but fishing from the beach this week has been tough, some decent sized fish have come over the rails of the jetties. Tommy also said a lot of finger mullet are in the water, which is unusual for this time of year, unusual but good!

Our first photo features Ed Gomiela of Palm Bay. who scored with his beautiful 9 lb., 25 3/4" Flounder using finger mullet. That's the size Flounder we expect this time of year!
Photo today is of Alek Turko of Indialantic who caught this big Drum that wouldn't even fit in Alek's cooler! Alek also landed three Whiting.
