Sebastian Inlet Report
11-06-14 THURSDAY: BLACK DRUM, SPANISH MACKEREL, BLUES, SHEEPSHEAD, REDS, SNOOK AND A FEW FLOUNDER
We have a real nice morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the North-Northwest at 9 mph, gusting to 11 and the water has a light to moderate chop. I understand that I missed some good fishing and a shot of cold weather that seems to have invigorated the bite. We will have a full moon tonight and hopefully we will see lots of action.
Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reported the fishing has been very good. We are seeing a substantial number of large Jacks, decent sized Spanish Mackerel are being landed on Gotcha lures and Blues in the 2 - 3 lb. range are coming over the rails this morning. Some of cold weather species have started to migrate our way including Black Drum and those oh, so tasty Sheepshead. A few Flounder have started to appear and as we see the water temperature drop, we surely will see more of our flat friends arrive. Rob "the Flounder man" Moore of Orlando has already landed a few nice ones, but there are some doormats in his future.
Our photo today is courtesy of Bill Olexa of Sebastian. Bill took this photo of Ralph Viviano of Sebastian with a gorgeous 26.5" slot Red he landed using a live pinfish. It just doesn't get much better than that.
