Sebastian Inlet Report

11-13-14 THURSDAY: BLACK DRUM, BLUES, JACKS, SPANISH MACKEREL, REDS, SNOOK, FLOUNDER AND TROUT

We have an absolutely gorgeous morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the Northwest at 5 mph, gusting to 7 and there is a light chop on the water.

Fishing has been hot! We're seeing schools of big Jacks, large Blues, good sized Spanish Mackerel, Snook, Reds, Black Drum, Flounder, Sheepshead and some Speckled Sea Trout all making appearances. This is a great time of year to get out, enjoy the beautiful weather and wet a line! Baits of choice have been shrimp, fresh clams and sand fleas. Most anglers are using Gotcha lures or silver spoons for the Mackerel.

Our first photo today features Belly Policarpio of Kissimee with a big 9 lb. Jack she landed using finger mullet.
Shaun Vasey landed the hefty Black Tip Shark in our second photo, south of the south jetty. Shaun reported lots of Sharks and Spanish Mackerel in the surf. The Shark was released right after the photo.
Photo three is of Joey Tarasavage of Indian Harbour Beach with an undersized Snook he landed while jigging for Flounder, wading near the T-Dock. Joey reported lots of big Blues and Jacks running the inlet, chasing pogies and finger mullet.
Rob Moore of Orlando was back at the inlet and landed six Flounder, the largest was 5 lbs. He returned on Friday to land five additional Flounder and a Snapper. Rob is hoping to see the Flounder bite steady through December, the season is shaping up well.
Justin Mitchell of Kissimmee landed this big Jack, which he released right after the photo.
