10-31-14 FRIDAY: JACKS, SNOOK, REDFISH AND FLOUNDER
The Jack bite continues. It has been consistent all week. Some larger Snook are being caught as well as big catch and release Redfish. An increase in the number of Flounder being caught indicates a possible shift in the pattern. Two species will most likely STOP biting real soon. Noseeums (sandflies) and Mangrove Snapper. Saturday night lows in the mid-40's and 25 mph wind will certainly put a bite on the pesky noseeums. And nobody has told the Snapper that it's essentially November! With a dramatic change in the weather, there is certain to be a shift in the types of fish being caught. Look for Flounder numbers to increase and Blues and Mackerel starting to show up around the jetties. Shrimp and mullet continue to be the reliable bait. Bundle up and be ready for some changes!
