There has been a great pompano bite along the beaches of the Treasure Coast, and they are bigger than they have been in recent weeks. A large number of bluefish and Spanish mackerel were also snagged.
In the Indian River, the snook fishing around the bridges at night has been on fire, and redfish - more than in previous years - are being caught on the east side.
Spanish mackerel and bluefish are being caught in big numbers on Jupiter's beaches. Some redfish have also been reported on the beach and also in front of the Jupiter Inlet.
Trout and redfish are chewing in the Intracoastal Waterway around Hobe Sound. Ladyfish, jacks and big mangrove snapper are biting in the Intracoastal in Jupiter, and snook are still active at night around area bridges. Some flounder have also been caught in the flats.
Ladyfish and jacks are also being caught in the surf along Palm Beach, and there have been some bluefish in the mix as well.
In the Intracostal, the most consistent action in central and southern Palm Beach County has been snook fishing around bridges and docks after sunset and during overnight hours.
On calmer days, big schools of bait fish have been spotted in the surf along Boynton Beach and holding around the inlet. This has brought some nice snook and tarpon to the area.
In the Intracoastal, sheepshead, jacks, ladyfish, Spanish mackerel, pompano and snook are biting near the Lantana bridge during the day, with some nice tarpon being hooked at night.
FRESHWATER
The windy conditions this week has made it more difficult to fish the outside edges on Lake Okeechobee, but that's where the best fishing is, as well as back in the grass. Live shiners are working better than artificial lures at this time, but you should have success either way.

There is a bass bite throughout the day, but the best action is still early in the morning. The bass are getting larger, too, with several bass in the 5-6-pound range being reported.
