10-06-14 MONDAY: REDS, SPANISH MACKEFEL, MANGROVE SNAPPER, SNOOK, BLUE RUNNERS, JACKS AND A COUPLE OF BLUES
We have finally have a touch of fall in the air! It's a stunning morning at the inlet, winds are blowing out of the East-Northeast at 7 mph, gusting to 11 and there is a moderate chop on the water.
We received an update from Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach who fished the incoming tide Friday afternoon with his neighbor Bob Green. After the water cleaned up, the Mangrove Snapper bite turned on and Mike landed his limit of five. The Spanish Mackerel were zipping around and Bob Green landed three nice ones using greenies under a bobber. Mike tried free-lining live greenies but got cut off four times before he gave up on the Macks. Mike was hoping for some Pompano, but didn't see any come over the rails during his time on the jetty, but the day before Richard Pearce of Sebastian landed a nice 14" fish. There were lots of Jacks and Blue Runners keeping anglers pretty busy. Our first three photos today are courtesy of Mike. Thanks!
