Sebastian Inlet Report
09-10-14 WEDNESDAY: MANGROVE SNAPPER, JACKS, BLUE RUNNERS, SNOOK AND AN OCCASIONAL PERMIT
Winds are blowing out of the West at 3 mph, gusting to 5 and there is a moderate chop on the water. A chance of showers and thunderstorms exist for this morning and afternoon.
Another good Mangrove Snapper bite happened again yesterday morning and some real nice fish came over the rails according to Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach. Mike fished the north jetty from 6:00 - 10:30. An exceptional Mangrove Snapper was landed by Jo Jo and Linda Jornadal of Miramar around 7:00 a.m. Jo Jo was using dead shrimp to land the 22.5" Snapper. Mike was pretty excited about that and he messed up his camera settings, so the photo is out of focus, but is worth putting online for the sheer size of the fish. We don't see many that large inshore. Mike also reported Mike White of Sebastian landed a 34" C/R Snook on the north side of the inlet using a croaker and Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach landed a 30 - 35 lb. Permit when he threw a live shrimp with a 4 oz. pyramid weight way out into the inlet. Many anglers went home with their limit (or close) of Mangrove Snapper.
Our first photo features Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach with a the beautiful permit he landed yesterday.
Photo two features Mike White of Sebastian with a 34"C/R Snook he landed yesterday morning. Mike released the Snook unharmed after the photo.
Photo three is of the big, 22.5" Mangrove Snapper landed by Jo Jo Journadal of Miramar, his wife Linda is featured in the photo as well.
Photo four features inlet regular Bill Hillman of Kissimmee with a 26" slot Red he landed.
