Sebastian Inlet Report

                     

08-12-14 TUESDAY: MANGROVE SNAPPER, JACKS, BONITO AND BLUE RUNNERS 

We have another beautiful summer morning at the inlet. We have a nice breeze blowing out of the South-Southwest at 8 mph, gusting to 11 and there is a moderate chop on the water.

We received an update from inlet regular Mike Ricciardi who fished the north jetty yesterday morning and reported a good early morning Mangrove Snapper bite. From 6:30 - 8:30 several of our inlet regulars, including Mike got their limits of Snapper. There was a lot of bait in the water, apparently enough to confuse the Snapper into biting one on a line! Mike reported that schools of Jacks and Bonito were crashing the bait pods which are always a lot of fun to watch. Mike sent in a photo of the bait swarming the jetty pilings. 
Our first three photos today are courtesy of Luke Vila of Kissimmee. Luke and his friend Justin Mitchell fished the inlet late into the evening. Luke reported they landed 6 Blue Runners, a big Jack and a Nurse Shark, all which were released except one Blue Runner, they used it for bait to land the Nurse Shark.
