INSHORE- The snook fishing really fired up this week inshore as some of the snook pulled back from the inlets. The snook are on the bridges and spillway, and for the most part are willing to eat big baits right now. Flair hawks,
SpoolTek swimbaits, and 7" DDX Soft Plastics are all great choices right now for the snook. Small tarpon are filling into Lake Worth and Little Lake Worth pretty good. Look for the tarpon rolling early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Live shrimp, small pilchards, live finger mullet, and soft plastic swimbaits should all get a bite from hungry tarpon. The fish are on the smaller side so keep the tackle on the lighter side to get the most out of them. Some big jacks have been cruising ICW seawalls early in the morning, and typically will blast a well presented topwater plug.
SURF/PIER- The snook are cruising the beach right now, and provide a fun chance to do a little sight fishing when conditions permit. Try fishing early and late, and avoid heavily crowded beaches for the most chances at the snookies. Lots of bait hanging around the Juno Beach Fishing Pier, and plenty of predators in the mix as well. Live baits will provide the best chances on the pier, but plugs will work in low light conditions or when the water is dirty. Snapper fishing has been fair at Jupiter inlet. Small pilchards early in the morning are the best bet for the mangrove snapper at Jupiter Inlet.
