Sebastian Inlet Report
07-02-14 WEDNESDAY: BAD DAY FOR BOATING, BUT MAYBE FISHING WILL PICK UP?
We will be seeing bands of rain off and on today with Tropical Storm Arthur now moving off the coast of Cape Canaveral. Currently, we are seeing winds blowing out of the West-Northwest at 9 mph with gusts to 13, but chances of the wind picking up are good. A small craft advisory is in effect through 3:00 a.m. Thursday morning. The NOAA forecast is calling for 6 - 7' seas and it is choppy on the intracoastal. Keep the boats tied up today; it's not a good day to be out on the water.
We're seeing a few C/R Snook, some Mangrove Snapper, a few Blue Runners, Jacks and Lookdowns, but overall it's been pretty quiet at the inlet. Maybe the rough water will get the fish biting, some species like it churned up.
Our angler of the day is Bronson Spears of Orlando. Bronson is home on a two week leave from the Army and decided to head to the inlet. The young warrior lucked out with two real nice C/R Snook he landed using live shrimp. The Snook were released unharmed after the photos.
