Sebastian Inlet Report

07-15-14 TUESDAY: MANGROVE SNAPPER, BLACK MARGATE, SPANISH MACKEREL, JACKS, C/R SNOOK

We have a beautiful morning at the inlet, so far. Winds are blowing out of the Southwest at 3 mph, gusting to 5 and there is a light chop on the water.

Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach made it back out again yesterday for some early morning fish therapy and reported another good Snapper bite. A lot of Black Margate came over the rails, more than Snapper. Out of the 10 - 12 anglers fishing for Snapper, at least 100 Margate were landed between 7:00 - 9:30. Most were in the 6 - 10" range but some good sized Margate were landed as well. Several large Jacks were caught and a few Mackerel, but the Barracuda were wreaking havoc on the Macks and cutting them in half before they could get to the jetty, although some managed to make to the jetty to be eaten by some lucky fishermen. Permit were more active and 8 - 10 were landed on crabs.

Our first photo features Chris Robinson of W. Melbourne with a good sized Margate he landed.
Photo two is of Mike Ricciardi's and Tony Swiderski's limits of Mangrove Snapper and a nice Margate.

Photo three features Tiffany Servetas with a real nice C/R Red she landed off the north jetty.
