"Rod and Reel
Avoiding the salt caked mess pictured is very simple. Before storing reels; try to do the following:
1. Give the reels a very light misting after use (avoid high pressure rinsing, as this can push salt further into the reel).
2. Wipe down outside of reel with soapy water solution and soft mitt to remove salt.
3. Lightly rinse the soap off.
4. Dry with a soft towel or chamois.
5. Back off drag as described yesterday and put away...your reel is ready for action.
