Sebastian Inlet Report

06-06-14 FRIDAY: BLUE RUNNERS, SPADEFISH, SMALL SHEEPSHEAD AND JACKS

We have another beautiful late spring morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West at 4 mph and gusting to 9. There is a light chop on the water. We have a nice weekend forecasted, but greater chances of rain than during the week, typical summer weekend for us Monday - Friday people. Checking the NOAA forecast, located under our first web cam photo, it looks as if the weekend will be good for our boaters. Always check the NOAA forecast before going offshore, conditions can change very quickly.

I spoke with Tony Swiderski of Sebastian this morning who has was not on the north jetty, which is a good indicator of how slow fishing is right now. Tony fished yesterday and reported a slow bite, but a few fish came over the rails for a couple of lucky anglers. One Sand Perch, a few Blue Runners, a couple of Spadefish and a couple of small Sheepshead came over the rails in the morning hours, but most anglers went home empty handed. Tony reported that greenies and larger mullet are in the water which should start attracting some Permit and Snapper.
