Sebastian Inlet Report

06-23-14 MONDAY: PERMIT, C/R SNOOK, BIG REDS, JACKS, LOOKDOWNS, AND MANGROVE SNAPPER

We have another gorgeous summer morning at the inlet. This morning there is a light breeze blowing out of the West at 4mph and the water is calm and clean. The no see 'ums are out in force, but sure to take insect repellent if you head to the inlet today. Our weekend brought us typical summer weather; pretty mornings, rainy afternoons and fishing that was just so-so.

Over the weekend a few big Permit were landed. Catch and release Snook, oversized Reds, Jacks, Mangrove Snapper and Blue Runners were landed by a few patient anglers, according to Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. Tommy fished the beach using 2 lb. test and did well with some decent sized Whiting. There are mojarra and greenies in the water and they should be attracting some good table fare for us.
Our first photo today is courtesy of Billy Ocker. Billy took this photo of a young man leaving the north jetty with a real nice Permit. The angler is unknown, but if you know who it is give us a shout so we can give him is props.....
