06-19-14 THURSDAY: THE ACTION IS PRETTY SLOW THIS MORNING
We have an overcast morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the Northwest at 5 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water. We had some rain that ran some anglers and me off the north jetty earlier this morning. Not much was biting, except for a few Lookdowns. Early this morning Paul Danko of Sebastian landed one Permit, but he left before a photo could be taken. Overall, a very slow morning off the north jetty.
We received an update from Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach who fished the north jetty yesterday morning. Chuck reported that Permit are starting to arrive and 4 - 5 good sized fish came over the rails yesterday morning. Chuck had one on the line for a long time, but he ended up losing it, he estimated it to be between 15 - 20 lbs. Chuck reported that on the outgoing tide, lots of crabs are floating out and the Permit are going after them.
We received an update from Sandy Vandermullen who surf fished the south side about 1/2 mile down this morning and reported a lot of seaweed in the water making fishing from the beach tough.
Our first photo today features Chad Verbosky of Morgantown, WV with his first Snook catch. Chad was fishing the south beach when he hooked up with his 40" beauty using greenies. The Snook was released unharmed.
