Sebastian Inlet Report

05-16-14 FRIDAY: TGIF!

We have a breezy morning at the inlet with a mix of sun and clouds. Winds are averaging 15 mph but gusts have been as high as 24 mph this morning. The forecast is calling for a real nice weekend; sunny, breezy with very little chance of rain. Even though the fishing has been on the slow side, what a nice weekend to get out and enjoy the great outdoors!

Fishing the flats has been more productive the past week; anglers have done well with Speckled Sea Trout, Black Drum, Sheepshead and Pompano. Wednesday morning Tony Swiderski of Sebastian hooked up with two Snook in the early morning hours off the north jetty, both were oversized; one at 32.5" and one at 37". One slot fish came over the rails that morning for an unidentified angler. We still have a couple of weeks to get in a slot Snook, so get out there in the early morning or evening and get one before the season closes June 1st. Other fish being landed off the north jetty have included a few Jacks, Ladyfish and Blue Runners.
Photo one features Jason, Trevin and Will with the Bonito they landed.
Our third photo features Luke Vila of Kissimmee with a Ladyfish he caught and released using live shrimp.
