Sebastian Inlet Report
05-12-14 MONDAY: FISHING REMAINS ON THE SLOW SIDE
It's a gorgeous morning at the Sebastian Inlet. Winds are blowing out of the East at 10 mph and gusting to 14. There is moderate chop on the water and small craft should exercise caution.
We had another beautiful weekend and a lot of people spent it at the State Park. Unfortunately, not a lot of fish were landed. Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop said there were a smattering of species landed over the weekend, but nothing to get excited about. A few Black Drum, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, Blues, Jacks, Snook and Reds were landed. Nights were a little more interesting with catches of Snook, Reds and Ladyfish, Jacks and Blues. Some anglers are doing well fishing the river near the inlet. Good sized Speckled Trout have been landed, along with Ladyfish, Sheepshead, Black Drum and Blues. There is a lot of bait in the water. Silver mullet, greenies and glass minnows should be bringing in the larger predators but it's not happening yet. We are impatiently waiting!
Our first photo today is of Liz Ruggieri who fished the banks of the inlet and landed a monster Sheepshead on live shrimp.
Photo two is of James and Luke Vila with Black Drum landed simultaneously.
