From Henry & Fred @ Snook-Nook - Jensen Beach

Bright sun, temps were in the 80’s and the wind is on the move. North and northeast and plenty of it with not so polite seas and a chopped up river made for some long days at the Snook Nook. It was a week when size did matter, seas were no only big but the times between the wave were close so it just was not a confortable week.

Surf anglers had some days where you could fish and days where lets say it was less than favorable. Plenty of big Whiting and Croaker to take home using pieces of shrimp, sand fleas and fish bites but then about the Snook. Plenty reports of fish from many locations using small Croakers and floater diver lures. It has been an all day bite for all of the above with quite a few in the slot, 28”/32” and that has been a hard Snook to locate all season. Snook season closes on the 31st we only have a few days left.
Winds have kept most anglers on the east side of the river, most anglers. But there is always a few that wait for these conditions, Snook anglers will tell you the harder the wind bows the better the Snook fishing. Pick a bridge after sun down and watch as they show, not hard to see withal that heavy equipment.
These fish are built to play in heavy current, watch the bridge pilings you will see them in the water, in action.
Anglers will use a wide selection of baits from heavy jigs to deep Running lures, live from big to small all with their own methods and stay out in the wind that keeps most away, loving it. So those that did get out reported plenty of big Trout with only a few in the slot, mix of slot Reds with plenty of Jacks and short Snook, problem the wind kept changing direction. Soooooo if any one can contact the weather man and have him turn off his wind weapon we anglers would appreciate it.
