Sebastian Inlet Report

04-08-14 TUESDAY: SPANISH MACKEREL, SEA TROUT, SHEEPSHEAD, BLACK DRUM, REDS, SNOOK, BLUES AND JACKS

We have cloudy skies and rains forecasted for this afternoon, but a change in weather pattern is sometimes good for fishing. If you can handle the rain, you may get lucky with a Snook or Red, they like it rough! Winds are blowing out of the South at 11 mph and gusting to 16; there is a moderate chop on the water and there is a small craft advisory through Wednesday afternoon. Always check the NOAA forecast prior to going offshore.

We received an update from Andrew Sampson of Melbourne who was at the inlet yesterday and reported that not much was biting but a lot of Spanish Mackerel were in the inlet. We know the fish are there, it's just a matter of getting them to bite! Andrew and his brother Bryan from Kissimmee had a great time gigging Sheepshead over the weekend, between them, they got 16 nice fish.

Our first photo today is of an enormous Snook landed and carefully released by inlet regular Jose Dore of Palm Bay . This beauty was 44" and 32 lbs.!
Photo two is of the Sampson brother's catches, 16 nice Sheepshead.
