From Capt Joe Ward @ Bait Shack - FT Pierce

INSHORE - Fishing was good until the cold front pushed through on Wednesday afternoon. The snook action has been good around the area bridges for anglers using live pilchards or pigfish.
The trout have been a little slow this week but, the ones reported were good fish - 5 to 9 pounds and they were taking live pilchards on the flats to the north of Little Jim Bridge. As for the redfish - try the area from Jack Island to Starvation Cove and use a live shrimp fished around the mangroves. The hot spot this week has been around the Turning Basin. There has been plenty of action from Spanish mackerel, bluefish and even a few pompano. All of these fish have been taking a live shrimp on a jig head or a small shinny jigs. The sheepshead bite has slowed some but, the power lines to the south in the river has been one of the better spots. A live shrimp or a fiddler crab are the baits of choice.
