Sebastian Inlet Report

02-13-14 THURSDAY: BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, SPANISH MACKEREL, BLUES, WHITING AND A FEW SNOOK AND REDS

We don't have a lot of folks out fishing this morning. Winds are blowing out of the West-Northwest at 12 mph; gusting to 20 and there is a moderate chop on the water. There is a small craft advisory for winds through this evening. It is forecasted to be windy all day with temperatures dropping again tonight, but by the weekend, it should be great!

We've seen the action pick up over the past few days. Large Black Drum are taking mostly live shrimp, but dead shrimp and clams usually work. Blues, Whiting, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Sea Trout and a few Snook and Reds have been making appearances. The water has been very clean and schools of bait fish have been easily caught.

Our first photo today is courtesy of Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach and features Terry Hammond with a beautiful, fat 23" Speckled Sea Trout.
Our second photo features J.R. Rabano of Kissimmee with a Sheepshead he landed using clams.
Photo three is also courtesy of Mike Ricciardi. Tony Swinderski of Sebastian poses with an enormous Black Drum he landed using live shrimp.
