Sebastian Inlet Report

11-06-13 WEDNESDAY: CONDITIONS ARE CALMING DOWN

Conditions are beginning to calm down at the inlet. This morning winds are blowing out of the East-Southeast at 9 mph and gusting to 11. The water remains rough and a small craft advisory is in effect through this afternoon. Waves are still breaking over portions of the jetties; make sure you take rain gear if you head to the inlet today.

The rough conditions can sometimes shake things up a bit, that and the drop in water temperature should bring in more migrating species. Reds, a few Snook, Black Drum, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Margate, a few Sheepshead and lots of big Jacks have been active at the inlet.

Our angler of the day is Mike Weatherly of Sebastian. Mike fished the south jetty, when this big Jack hit a smaller Jack he was using for bait. Mike reported the big fellow put up quite a fight.
