Sebastian Inlet Report

09-16-13 MONDAY: MANGROVE SNAPPER, SNOOK, REDS, JACKS AND BLUE RUNNERS

Our web cam is down indefinitely. We are addressing the issue and will have it up and running as soon as possible, thank you for your patience.

Over the weekend there were lots of Mangrove Snapper according to Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. There were also some Reds, more oversized than keepers. Snook were active, but most of those were oversized as well. Spanish Mackerel were swimming in and out of the inlet, and a few Jacks and Blue Runners were around. There are still some Moon Jellyfish in the water, but nothing like they were last week.

Sebastian Inlet District Commissioner, Capt. Michael Rowland went out Saturday with his neighbors Pete Lazaredes and Jim Mountjoy of Malabar on Saturday, to fish near the tip of the north jetty. Michael reported the Snook were active, he hooked up with six on light leaders which he lost. He switched to a 50 lb. leader and boated and released three oversized Snook using large pigfish. Nice catch Commissioner!

We also received an update from north jetty regular Mike Riccardi who fished Friday morning and reported a good Snook bite in the early morning hours from 4:30 - 6:30. A lot of oversized fish were landed but only two were in the slot. Jimmy Winter and Chuck Fischer lucked out with slot Snook. Four or five Redfish came over the rails along with some good sized Mangrove Snapper. Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach is featured in our photo today.
