We have a real nice breeze at the inlet this morning. Winds are blowing out of the East-Northeast at 14 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water. Jellyfish continue to be a problem for our shore-based anglers. They are very thick!
We received an update from inlet regular Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach who reported that the jellyfish put a damper on fishing yesterday morning. There were countless numbers flowing out of the inlet until around 10:00 a.m. When the tide started coming in, the jelly's thinned out a little. There were very few baitfish around and the early morning bite was almost nonexistent. Mike was unable to get greenies in the Tide Pool, when he cast his net he came up with jelly! No Snook or Reds were landed during his time on the north jetty, but after the tide turn 10 - 12 Mangrove Snapper, several Blue Runners and 2 Pompano came over the rails. Mike sent in a couple of photos of the Moon Jellyfish that have invaded the inlet!
