Sebastian Inlet Report

08-22-13 THURSDAY: MANGROVE SNAPPER, C/R SNOOK AND REDS

We have a little cloud cover at the inlet this morning. Winds are blowing out of the East-Southeast at 7 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water.

A few ones and twos of various species will make an appearance, but the main attraction remains Mangrove Snapper at the inlet. C/R Snook have been biting, but please handle those fish with extra caution. The Redfish bite seems to be picking up as well.
Our
photo today is of Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach who fished the north jetty yesterday morning. Mike reported another good Mangrove Snapper bite and anglers were mainly targeting them. Live shrimp produced good results for those who were unable to find mojarra. Most of the fish were in the 10.5" - 12" range, but were thick. Mike lined up his limit of plump Snapper on the cleaning table for this shot.
