Sebastian Inlet Report

05-08-13 WEDNESDAY: SNOOK, REDS, BLUES AND JACKS
It's a gorgeous morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West-Southwest at 4 mph and the water is calm.

An update from Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach reported that fishing was on the slow side for table fare. He and Tony Swiderski of Sebastian both landed oversized Snook, around 36" just before daylight yesterday. Chuck saw a small Black Drum and a couple of Sheepshead. Spiro Stathopoulos of Malabar landed a huge Jack that put up quite a fight, as did Tony.
Our angler of the day is inlet regular Trevor Clarcq. Trevor fished the inlet and reported a lot of crabs drifting out of the inlet on the outgoing tide and big Reds were surfacing to attack them. Many anglers were having good luck using big top water plugs and others were catching the crabs and using them. Trevor landed the big Red which he estimated in the 46" - 50" range, using 15 lb. braid and 20 lb. leader on his Trout pole. It took about an hour to pull this monster up. There were also a fair amount of fair sized Jacks and small Mangrove Snapper being caught.
