Sebastian Inlet Report
04-05-13 FRIDAY: BIG BLUES AND JACKS, A SMATTERING OF BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, FLOUNDER, SPANISH MACKEREL AND SNOOK
We have an overcast morning at the inlet, but conditions are nice. Winds are blowing out of the South-Southwest at 8 mph and gusting to 11. Winds are predicted to shift to West winds early this afternoon, which could bring us some nice surf, keep an eye on the web cam. Always use caution when casting into the surfing area when surfers are present. We have a chance of showers off and on today, so go prepared if you head to the inlet.
Mike Ricciardi was back out on the north jetty yesterday morning and reported big Blues and big Jacks kept anglers busy. Many of the Blues were hooked up on the morning outgoing tide but were too large to hoist over the rails and broke off. Mike landed a 32", 9 lb. Blue and an 11 lb. Jack.
Our first photo today features inlet regular Bill Hillman who landed this 12 lb. Bluefish off the north jetty .
Photo two features Don Washabaugh with a large Snook he landed from the north jetty on. Don was fishing the outgoing tide using live shrimp, and landed this big boy, his first Snook!
Our last photo today features Matthew Turnmeyer with what we believe to be a Spinner Shark. Matthew reported the Shark jumped out of the water several times after it was hooked up and weighed about 80 lbs. His buddies Kevin Ferris and Justin Jerek from New Hampshire helped him pull it to shore and release it unharmed after the photo.
