04-11-13 THURSDAY: SNOOK, BLUEFISH, SHEEPSHEAD, JACKS AND BLACK DRUM
This morning winds are blowing out of the South-Southeast at 15 mph and gusting to 18. This morning there is a moderate chop on the water but it is predicted to get choppier as the wind picks up later this afternoon.
We received an update from Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach who was on the north jetty yesterday morning from 6:30 - 10:00 a.m. Mike reported another good early morning Snook bite with 90% of the fish being over the slot; four keepers were landed. Most anglers were free-lining live shrimp, but one Snook was landed on live finger mullet. A good sized school of mullet were being beat up by the Snook and large Blues. There were plenty of small Jacks, small Black Drum and Sheepshead, 5 - 10 lb. Bluefish and a good sized Lookdown as well. Mike's contribution to the catch and release Snook is the 34" beauty in our first photo today.
