Sebastian Inlet Report



04-01-13 MONDAY: BLUES, BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, SNOOK, JACKS, REDS, FLOUNDER AND SEA TROUT 

This morning winds are blowing out of the West-Southwest at 11 mph and gusting to 15, there is a moderate chop on the water, but there are no NOAA boating advisories at this time.

Over the weekend there were a good variety of fish landed according to Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. Some nice Blues from 3 - 12 lbs. came over the rails along with Black Drum, Sheepshead, Snook, Reds, Jacks, Flounder and some big Sea Trout were landed in the inlet as well. 

Our first photo today features Carol Latour, owner of Reel Em In Bait and Tackle in Sebastian. Carol landed this beautiful 19.5" Sheepshead off the north jetty using live shrimp.

Our second photo features Tom Wilkins of Barefoot Bay who landed this nice 28.5" Snook on live shrimp. 

HOOK KIDS ON FISHING CLINIC: Saturday, April 20, 2013, 9 - 11:00 a.m., Sebastian Riverside Park, 820 Riverside Drive, Sebastian, FL. This program is for youth from 6 - 16 who are welcome along with their parents. The first 80 registered kids get a free rod, reel and tackle box!! The clinic will feature casting, conservation, fishing safety, knot tying, catch and release tactics. This wonderful program is sponsored by Anglers for Conservation and the Sebastian Fishing Club. Registration is mandatory! Call the City of Sebastian Recreation Dept. at 772-228-7054 to register. Volunteers are also needed. To volunteer, call 321-750-3374. What a great opportunity to get your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, little brothers and sisters involved in the wonderful sport of fishing!
