Sebastian Inlet Report

03-13-13 WEDNESDAY: SHEEPSHEAD, BLACK DRUM, BLUES, JACKS, POMPANO, SEA TROUT AND SNOOK
This morning winds are blowing out of the North-Northwest at 8 mph, there is a moderate chop on the water and it's chilly out on the jetties. Yesterday's rain brought us some cool air. A small craft advisory remains in effect through Thursday evening.

The usual casts of characters are making appearances in the inlet. Sheepshead are taking any type of crustacean, but sand fleas and small crabs seem to be the best bet. Black Drum, Blues, Jacks, a few Pompano and a few Pompano are being landed off the jetties as well. Anglers fishing the flats have had success with some nice Sea Trout. Night anglers are seeing the Snook bite improve.

Our first photo today features Kevin Bucchio of Melbourne. Kevin landed his first Snook while free-lining a large shrimp with a 3/4 ounce split shot. Kevin actually landed two Snook, both were catch and release. Kevin reported that he used to fish for Stripers in New Hampshire and he's never felt a Striper smash his bait like the Snook did. Kevin said they were the best fighting fish he's ever caught. This beauty was 38"!
Nam Bui and Thang Nguyen of Orlando fished the inlet Friday night and reported the Snook bite picked up. Thang landed his first keeper of the season with the nice 31" Snook in photo two.
Photo three features Nam Bui with a C/R Snook at 27".
