Sebastian Inlet Report
01-08-13 TUESDAY: BLUES, SPANISH MACKEREL AND POMPANO
We have a mix of sun and clouds over the inlet this morning. Winds are blowing out of the South-Southeast at 8 mph and there is a light chop on the water. Once again, we are seeing some anglers on the south beach, going for Pompano. We've seen quite a few landed in the surf lately.
Yesterday morning was on the slow side according to Tommy Turowski of the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. The Blues and Spanish Mackerel turned on in the late afternoon and the bite was very good. Blues will take just about anything as far as bait, and Spanish Mackerel will hit the shiny stuff, silver spoons work well for both species. For those who are targeting Pompano, crustaceans work best. Sand fleas, shrimp and clams are the most favored.
Photo one features Sara Niccum with her first C/R Red!
Our second photo features Tracy Niccum with a string of nice looking Black Drum. Tracy limited out with five.
